Birthday Celebration

This past Sunday we celebrated my brothers  birthdays. They are four days apart, and it just so happened that Shaun was home for a wedding during his birthday week. Although it was not such a happy birthday for him, because he broke his foot at the wedding. He was in good spirits, even with a broken foot. My Uncle Ken happened to be in town from New York, also this weekend.   We had the birthday celebration at my parents house. It was the first time for Uncle Ken and Shaun meeting Noah, and they had not seen Katelyn in awhile either. It was fun to spend time together with everyone. Happy 26th Birthday Ryan and Happy 29th Birthday Shaun!

A little Picasso

I bought Katelyn some watercolor paints, because she likes to color, so I assumed she would like to paint as well. I hit the jackpot, because now this is her new hobby. She will sit and paint different pictures for over 30 minutes. I think she is an arts and craft kind of girl!

Sibling Love

Katelyn is just head over heels for Noah. She wants to hold him all the time. She says, "hold Noah" about fifty times a day! I just love it!!!

Geneva Fall Festival

I decided to google fall festivals in the suburbs this past week to see what would pop up. I found one that was going to be in Geneva on Saturday, and it was all for kids. Barb, Katelyn, Noah, and I decided to head out there and check it all out. It was totally worth it! Katelyn had a blast. She painted a pumpkin, fed animals in a petting zoo, rode a pony, went in a bouncy house, and played on a firetruck. We ended up staying for three hours. I think this will be an annual fall activity in years to come.

Finger licking good....

I really enjoy baking! I love to make cookies, brownies, cakes, and everything else that you consider baking. I believe I fell into this love for baking, because my mom also loves to bake and is fantastic at it! Whenever I am baking something, I try to have Katelyn help me out in the process. Today I made brownies, she helped me stir and lick the bowl clean. We have Matt's family staying with us this weekend and my guess is that the brownies will not last long in our house.

The last three weeks....

The last three weeks have come and gone. Matt has been home with me for the last three weeks. It is has been extremely helpful. I would not have been able to do it all on my own the first couple of weeks. Today Matt went back to work and I was a little bit nervous about handling two kids on my own. So far, the day has been great! We have played outside, played inside, ate lunch and now nap time!!! I am sure everyday will not be this easy, but for the first day with Matt back to work, it has been going well. Here are some of the activities we did to keep ourselves entertained these last three weeks........

Noah Andrew Bretz
