Party at the Bretz's

This Friday Jen, Henry, and Ryne were in town visiting from Denver. We do not see Jen as often as we would like, so we decided to have a little party at my house. A bunch of my high school friends and their cute kids came over to hang out. It was so great catching up and leaving off like we had never left each other. The kids are all so cute and had fun playing and running around. It was a house full, but we would have not had it any other way.

Seven Months

Katelyn is now seven months (well a week ago). I am late getting this post up. She was being a stinker when we were taking her seven month pictures, of course she decided that she did not really want to smile. We took a few and it is, what it is. I am absolutely loving being home with her these past couple of weeks. She is a growing girl. She still loves all her food. She gets cereal and fruit for breakfast, at lunch she gets a fruit and veggie, and dinner cereal and a veggie. In between she drinks her bottles. There is not one think I have given her that she does not like. She has fun spitting it out of her mouth, especially if you laugh at her, that makes her want to do it more. Katelyn has been a drooling machine. Everyday I check for teeth, but nothing yet. I am sure within the next weeks we might get something, but I said that last month HA.  Her sleeping through the night is still GREAT. Recently,  she is getting up on all fours and is moving her butt back and forth. She will be crawling in no time. Sometimes she is a stinker with her smiles. You have to work hard to get them, but if you are with her in the morning she is all smiles! Her favorite toys are ones that sing and light up. She can keep herself occupied for a while now on the floor with all of her toys.  Katelyn has been in swim lessons for two weeks now, and she is a little fish. She loves the water and is sticking her face in the water all by herself (its pretty funny to see her surprised face after she does it). She is so stinking cute and so adorable!! I am totally looking forward to spending the next couple of months with her!

Yorkville State Park

We have been quite the "outdoors" family lately. Matt, Katelyn, and I drove to Yorkville's State Park today. We left this morning around ten and took the kayak with us. Matt went fishing in his kayak on the lake. While Matt was fishing, Katelyn and I walked around some of the trails. It was gorgeous outside, not to hot with a little breeze. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch when Matt was done fishing. It was fun to get out in the "country" and get away from all the hustle and bustle in Naperville.

Family Pictures

When we were down in Springfield for Mother's Day, Matt's cousin Kimmy was home from California. She majored in photography and is awesome. So, we thought we would ask her to take some family pictures of us in Washington Park. She captured a bunch of pictures. I picked out the ones I liked the best of us and Katelyn. Thank you again Kimmy, we love them!!!!

Swimming and Swimming

I thought since Katelyn loves the water, that I would sign her up for swim lessons this summer. We go on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the YMCA. She absolutely LOVES the pool. Matt was able to come today to watch and he could snap a few shots of us.

Tonight we went to the Cougars game. It was a beautiful night to hang out at the ballpark. Katelyn enjoyed her first baseball game.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Dad/Matt. Yesterday was Matt's 29th birthday. Yes, I am dating a younger man! Katelyn and I made breakfast for him. We gave it to him in bed and sang to him. We had a relaxing day with hanging around the house and Matt went kayaking later on with Mark and Cory. Of course we had Chinese Kitchen for Matt's birthday dinner. It was fun celebrating Matt's birthday!!!
