Fishing with Dad

Matt's favorite hobby in the summer months is fishing. Since, we have a pond across the street from our house, it is convenient for him to go fishing on the weekend or when he gets home from work. Katelyn and I ventured over on Sunday to watch him fish. Sometimes, he has issues with catching anything, but not on Sunday.  Katelyn was brave enough to touch some of the fish.When she lost interest in the fish, she decided to run up and down the hill!

Finally, it feels like summer.....

These past two days have been spent outside. Right when Katelyn wakes up the first thing she says is, "outside." We have set up her water table out in the backyard that she has loved playing with. Her slide and chairs are out in the yard as well. I feel like summer has started already, but unfortunately I have a few more weeks of school. I am TOTALLY ready for the summer days!

Mother's Day

This past weekend was a whirlwind of events. Matt graduated with his MBA on Friday night from NIU. Then, we headed up to Michigan to attend my brothers college graduation on Saturday. On Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day. To say the least, I was a little tired from the weekend, but glad that we had so much to celebrate.

For Mother's Day it started with me being able to sleep in. Yes, I have not done this forever, so that was a nice treat. Matt made me breakfast in bed and Katelyn helped me eat it. We then headed to brunch with all of my family and Matt's family at Jameson's. After we ate, drank, and talked we then headed back to my mom's house for dessert. It was a great Mother's Day and I am so blessed to have a wonderful mom and mother in law. Being a mom is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life!
